The point about 'Dragostea din tei' really stuck with me, that its power comes from the pulse and sound of the language more than what it's actually saying. Most people who blew it up via 'Numa Numa' probably never knew or cared what the lyrics meant. That kind of disconnect between a song's massive popularity and its actual content is a version of the thing I love writing about. Fun rundown of a chaotic pop era.
I might have to try this album a day exercise next year! It’s definitely motivating to see your results and rankings, and how have I never seen that “Move Your Feet” video before??
To be fair, Kylie was very much a "creation" of SAW, Stock, Aitken and Waterman, aka The Hit Factory, in the latter part of the '80s, along with Jason Donovan (also an Aussie and ex-Neighbours co-star) and Rick Astley, along with a few other artists/vocalists I'd rather prefer to forget about, thank you very much.
So kinda European.
Plus, I've been told that the word on the street is that she's still got a great arse.
I picked one week. Then Ken picks the next. No official process. I just have a list whenever I think of something. But usually it’s connected to something I’m vaguely interested in.

It’s a fun story. I honestly have no idea what the lyrics mean

Doesn't sound like a strong endorsement for the Europop genre!
I like Kylie Minogue's Impossible Princess better than Fever because it mixes some art pop and trip hop into the dance pop

Atomic Kitten was created by Andy McCluskey and Stuart Kershaw of Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, who wrote and produced most of the material.
Interesting. It looks like their second album, the one we listened to, is littered with other writers
Yeah I messed up this week. I’m also learning right now that Kylie Minogue is Australian. I’ll be better in the future
You are forgiven. Go in peace to love and serve the Lord

Chris, how do you two decide what each theme will be?
