I love it! Very dance party ready. Fun video, too. How did you get permissions from movie studios for the clips? I’d like to do the same for a project.
Movie studios might be a pain to deal with, too much bureaucracy. But I tried once contacting a relatively famous rock band Guster for the inverse process, using their music for a short movie my friend was making and they were pretty chill about it. They didn't ask many questions. (although I did provide some background). They let us use it fast and easy.
I love everything about this song, and this post is such a great description of the process. I look forward to returning to recording myself sometime. It's been a while, and it'll be a while yet, but this post certainly inspired me. Thank you, and Happy New Year from a reader in Sydney, Australia.
It's very enlightening to see the process from scratch to finish. Musicians pour hours, days, and even months into crafting a single track. People don't know how much sweat and tears go into a song. And then, it drops on the Internet, and in just a snap, we're swiping to the next without a second thought. It's frustrating how quickly we can ghost on something that took ages to build. But yeah, just needed to get that frustration out there.
Your voice shines when it’s double-tracked, and I dig the pentatonic guitar part that reminds me of the banjo riffing from Save a Horse Ride a Cowboy 🤣
That was fun more of this please!
Love the new song, Chris - as well as the post on your process for the track!
Thanks, Charlie!

Admittedly, I didn’t ... I figure if the song makes any money and they show up then I can figure it out lol
Good choice! There’s more progress when people ask forgiveness, not permission.
Haha! Easier to say sorry 😳

Just my two cents ;)

Anyway, good job on the music!

Well played, NJ, well played.
