Napster didn’t kill the music industry. It just held the knife. We killed it. We got sick of being force-fed crap filler music on over-priced CDs. When given the chance to get our music a la carte, we took it. Did we want to make Lars cry? No. Once we had a legal alternative (Apple), we took it. The music industry brought this on itself by squeezing us for every dime and giving us no choice. It went digital with CDs, and those zeroes and ones were the pitard it was hoisted upon. Good riddance.
Great post... And Happy Birthday!
Thank you!
Pro Tip for starters: Buy a license for the Reaper DAW, it's 60 bucks and Reaper is a fully professional DAW. You can also try it for free.

Thanks for a lovely post, Chris. It's an encouraging read at a discouraging time to be a musician.
Happy birthday!
